Review – Gelicity Jelly Foot Soak

In the May Glossybox we were treated to a one time use of the Gelicity Luxury Jelly Foot Soak and I decided after having a lovely day off I would try it out.

The Jelly Foot Soak retails for £4.99 for one use or £9.99 for a three use pack and comes in three scents:
Soothe: Lavender and Lemongrass
Cool: Peppermint and Menthol
Refresh: Tea Tree and Grapefruit

I was lucky enough to be sent the Soothe Soak and as I wear Safety Shoes 8 hours a day, five days a week at work, my feet are in desperate need of some soothing action.

The foot soak is Cruelty Free, Vegan Friendly, Hypoallergenic and Environmentally Safe and claims to have a long list of benefits including soothing tired feet, eases foot odour, helps with Athlete’s Foot and is considered to be a Natural Eczema Treatment.

In the box you get the instructions and two sachets of product, Sachet one is labelled as Step One and is the Jelly Mix, and Sachet two is labelled as Step Two and is the Jelly Dissolver.

So how do you use it?

Well you start by getting a bowl large enough to fit both feet, and putting in 4 to 5 litres of warm water that is comfortable temperature for you to relax in. Also helps to get your self a towel to dry your feet off after the soak.

Then you sprinkle in the contents of Sachet One and wait two minutes before swirling your hand through the water to mix the Jelly around a little.

Its at this point your Jelly Foot Soak is ready for you to submerge your tired feet into and now you can sit back and relax.

Please excuse my weird AF sunburn on my ankles (I acquired this at Cadwell Park)

I’ll admit that the first seconds as you slip your feet into the Jelly is really bizarre and I did kinda screw my face up a little as I dunked my feet into the mixture, however once your feet are in and you sit back and relax the experience is wonderful.

I sat for about five minutes with my feet in the Jelly before I managed to get my boyfriend to come and join me, so he took his sock (singular) and placed his one foot into the bowl with me because even though I offered to get out entirely but he said he was okay just with one foot in. So we sat on the sofa together cuddled up, me with both feet submerged, him with his one foot submerged. It was so nice for us to just spend 10 minutes together with no distractions.

Once you are ready to end your Jelly Foot Soak Experience you simply leave your feet in the Jelly and sprinkle in the contents sachet two. As it starts to breakdown you just wiggle your feet around to speed up the Jelly breakdown process. Once the Jelly has broken down you can just pour the bowl of water down the drain, there may be some Jelly remaining but this is perfectly safe to be rinsed away down the drain.

In all fairness it really is a wonderful treatment, I thought it would be a bit gimmicky at first and was actually a bit nervous to try it, but actually my feet do feel amazing now. Its different and its something I would recommend everyone try at least once. The experience is wonderful, just chilled out wiggling my toes in the Jelly, chilled out without a care in the world.

I do however have 2 complaints about this product.

The first is that, when you first put in Sachet One, this gorgeous aroma of Lavender fills the air, but then it just vanishes and I kinda just wish the scent had lasted. It claims to be a soothing, relaxing soak and the scent of lavender is obviously very relaxing and I think it would have added a lot to the experience if the scent had lasted through the whole soak.

And the second thing, is the spelling mistake on the packaging. Now this only bothers me more in a humorous way than a serious one, and I did giggle a bit when I noticed it but I thought it would be worth pointing out.

“See the whole ‘Gelpsa’ Range”

Anyway, enough about the Limited Edition Packaging as ASOS called it, and back to the product..

I loved this, I would 100% do this again. I don’t think I would do the Full Body Soak but I could definitely see myself doing the Foot Soak again in the future.

What do you think about this product? Have you tried it? Do you think you would try it in the future?

Thanks for reading guys!

Talk to you soon!
