Review – Rituals Foaming Shower Gel

Helloo!

Today I wanted to share my thoughts on a product I received back in March in my Birchbox.

What?

Rituals ‘The Ritual of Sakura’ Sensational Foaming Shower Gel.

This rich, relaxing shower gel is said to purify, cleanse and soften skin. With a cherry blossom fragrance and rich, creamy, moisturising foam.

It is said to bring the spa to your shower, and a full size bottle (200ml) can last up to 50 showers.

The shower gel contains Rice Milk extract to soften skin and produce a healthy glow, and Cherry Blossom to produce a relaxing fragrance.

How?

Simply pump a small amount of the gel into your hands. Contact with water transforms the gel into a rich, creamy foam.

A 200ml bottle retails at £8.50

My thoughts?

I liked this, I mean I used it all and wouldn’t have bothered if I didn’t.. However.. I don’t think its worth the money, it’s one of those products that’s “fine“. It didn’t blow my mind and make me think “oh my gosh I need this in my life forever”. It was fine..

I think the biggest thing for me, the thing that makes its not worth the price tag is that the scent just does not linger. At all. It’s like you rinse off the shower gel and the scent goes with it. I have £1 shower gels from the drugstore that have scents that last for hours, so for £8.50 why doesn’t this? The saddest part is that it smells beautiful.

Other than the scent not lasting, the product does its job. It’s cleans the skin well, I did feel a difference in my skin whilst using it, it did feel softer. Not massively but it was noticeable. The foaming aspect was pretty nice, but I don’t think its overly necessary, its a bit gimmicky, fun, but gimmicky.

Would I buy a full size?

No, I wouldn’t. I would use it if I received it again in a subscription box, or as a gift, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to own a bottle of it. Obviously I can’t speak for the other scents that Rituals have to offer but I wouldn’t go back to this line.

Have you tried anything from Rituals? I’d love to hear what you thought!

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Talk to you soon!
