Today I’m back with a review of a product I have just recently used up. I got this product just before we went to London last month and have been using it on and off, switching from this to the Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel and back again.
I actually saw this on Amazon, and the travel size pot that I purchased was just £9 and I figured thats a great price to pay as a way to try out a product I had heard nothing but good things about in the past!
As the title says, the product we are talking about is the Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm
What is it –
This cleansing balm is enriched with nourishing Elderberry, Starflower and Optimega™ and works to gently dissolve makeup, dirt and grim to provide a deep cleansing experience whilst also helping to firm and nourish the skin.
I also want to point out that if you buy the full size, it comes with a spatula and face cloth to use along side this product, however the travel size I bought came with just the product.
How to use –
Scoop out a small amount of product and warm between the palms of your hands, apply warmed balm to face and neck. Dampen fingers and continue to massage the balm into the skin. Remove with damp cloth.
This product can also be used as a mask, by applying a thin layer to face and neck, leaving on for up to 10 minutes and removing with a warm damp cloth.
What do I think –
I loved this! I think it smells great and it works really well at removing every trace of makeup and dirt. My skin felt cleaner, and softer than it usually did, and I noticed the over all feel of skin had improved.
I will admit to finding this a little tricky to use at first, I started out applying to dry skin and I didn’t find the experience to be overly enjoyable, so when I started using it in the shower I dampened my face with a cloth before going in with the balm and I noticed it melted faster (obviously) but I also noticed that the product went further and worked just as well if not better.
But overall, I loved this, and was a little gutted when I ran out in the shower a couple days ago, but I had scraped the jar clean so I was under no illusion that I loved it.
Would I repurchase –
Potentially… and by that I mean probably, but probably only ever in the travel size. I don’t know if I could justify £43 for a face wash.. no matter how good it is!
