About a week ago I finally caved and picked up a tube of the Loreal Unlimited Mascara. I hadn’t seen much about it online apart from one video by Fleurdeforce in which she said she liked it but I had seen their campaign images and was impressed. Now I will say that typically I do not get along with Loreal mascaras, I don’t know what it is about them but in the past I have only liked about 3 of the mascaras they offer, usually preferring Maxfactor or Maybelline.
I have been using it since the day after I bought it and wanted to share with you my thoughts as mascara is pretty much the most important part of my makeup. I think framing the eyes is super important and because my eyes are kinda hidden behind my glasses I like a good mascara that really defines and adds volume.
So lets take a look at the mascara
The wand on this mascara is a triangular shaped plastic wand that starts out quite chunky and then tapers off to a narrower end. It makes it easy to capture every lash, both top and bottom.
The formula is thick and black, not too dry, not too wet. Its a good middle ground with a lot of pigmentation.
To me the wand is very similar in shape, to that of the Benefit Bad Gal Bang Mascara, however the Loreal one is a bit of a fatter wand.
Its worth noting this mascara has a gimmicky addition to it that allows the wand to be angled in two ways however I am yet to find a need for this, but its there if you want it.
How does it perform?
As you can see from the above pictures this mascara does an amazing job at lengthening and defining the lashes. It provides the thickness, and plushness of false lashes without the need for falsies. It isn’t heavy so it doesn’t weight the lashes down and lashes are still left feeling quite soft.
It works wonders to capture each lash. If you look at the before you can see I have gaps but this mascara fills them in with no effort leaving me with a full set of lashes both top and bottom.
Would I recommend?
Oh god yes! This is really great, and does remind me alot of the Benefit Bad Gal Bang, not just in terms of the wand but the application and the results.
Overall its a great mascara and if your in the market for a new one, or just wanting to try something new I would highly, highly recommend.
