If you follow me on Instagram you’ll have seen that I was lucky enough to grab the Sunday Riley x Glossybox Limited Edition Box. I didn’t write about that box because it was limited edition and I knew that people may not have been able to get hold of it, but I did want to talk about the only full size product in the box, The cleansing balm.
I hadn’t used a cleansing balm until I tried the Elemis one in August, and at that point I kinda fell in love with them. So when I found out I could try the Sunday Riley one for a discounted price (The balm is £48, but the box was £25) I knew I had to have it.
I got the box at the end of September and have been using this balm ever since, but not every day. I have been using it around twice a week in order to give my skin a real treat, and a deep cleanse.
As you can see its been well loved. You don’t need a lot of this product as it melts down and covers the entire face really quickly and easily.
It melts off all make up in an instant, and gets rid of dirt and grim out of your pores. It leaves skin feeling clean and hydrated. There is no tightness or dryness caused by this product.
I have been thoroughly impressed by this, and my skin loves it. It smells nice, it does an amazing job at cleansing the skin, but, and for me there is a big but..
I hate the texture of this. Like to me, its really gross. It has these little beads in it, which I’m guessing are there to help exfoliate the skin but it doesn’t feel like an exfoliant, it just feels lumpy and gross. I complained to Ben about it, and he tried it but he didn’t seem bothered by it, where as I just really hate it.
That doesn’t mean I won’t use the remainder, because this stuff works. My skin is gorgeous afterwards, since using this my breakouts have been less frequent, my skin looks clearer and healthier so I have no complaints about how well this works, I just cannot stomach the texture.
Would I buy it again?
I honestly don’t know, I love the way it works, the way it makes my skin look and feel but the texture really is off putting to me, so I don’t know, I would have to try other cleansing balms and make a decision then. I don’t want to commit to something when I have an issue with how it feels.
But don’t let that put you off trying it, as I said, Ben didn’t mind it, and I know alot of bloggers that love this as well, so I would recommend trying it for yourself if you can.
Hope this helps you guys! Have you tried it? If not do you think you would?
Talk to you soon
