You guys it feels like forever since I last wrote on here! How have you all been?
On December 12th I wrote about how I needed to take a break from my blog, I had just picked up the keys to my new house and I needed to take the time to move from one house to another, and work 40 hours a week (including Christmas Day and New Years Day) plus for a good 2 weeks we actually have no internet so I couldn’t have blogged even had I wanted to.
The past three weeks have been hard work, between moving house, working, trying to get things sorted with the new house and the old house, trying to enjoy Christmas and the New year whilst having no real time off to do so and just trying to live our lives, I feel like I haven’t really stopped. Every week there has been something to do, either after work, or on our days off, in fact it doesn’t even feel like we have had a day off.
This weekend coming is probably going to be our first “weekend off” since the beginning of December and frankly, I cannot wait. Lay ins, getting cosy on the sofa in our PJs because we have no reason to get dressed (That’s a lie, we will both get dressed but you get the idea) maybe late night shopping and dinner out.. who knows what we might get up to. The possibilities are endless because the weekend will be ours.
Anyway, enough ranting about that, I actually wanted to mention in this a few things I want to do in the coming year, my ‘Resolutions’ if you will. These aren’t really resolutions in the typical sense of “Go to the gym” or “quit smoking” (Neither of which I do) but just things I want to focus on, or do more on.
So here we go –
This was top of my list for last year too, and between 2 trips to London, Cornwall, Cardiff and little trips in between I think we managed to tick it off. My Grandma’s last wish for me before she died was that I would travel and “live my life instead of focusing on work” and since then I have tried to do more of the things that make me happy, and travelling is definitely up there.
I want to go back to London, I want to go to the south coast of England, I want to stay in a little cabin in the woods, I want to go for day trips out and about, and just see the whole country.
Take more pictures!
This leads on from the first one, I want to take more pictures. It occurred to me on New Years Eve that I have probably 6 photos of Ben and I together, and we have been together just shy of 2 years. That doesn’t seem right to me. But its more than that, I want to take more pictures of where we go, the things we get up to. I want to be able to post them on here, or on Instagram and be able to look back of them fondly. Whilst I have a couple from the places we go it never feels like I capture enough of it.
Write more ‘diary’ posts!
I mentioned this towards the end of last year, and didn’t get around to it, but it’s something I want to focus on more this year. I want to talk about how I feel, the places I have been, what I have been doing. I don’t just want this to be a place where I talk about beauty products and nothing else. I want to share things with you guys, on a personal level. Its why I started this blog and its something I feel I have neglected.
Get more tattoos!
This is a given. I love tattoos, and I love getting tattooed. My most recent tattoo was back in July and it feels like an eternity ago. I don’t want to be covered but there are ones that I have wanted for a while that I will hopefully get through out the year.
Make this house feel like home –
Now, obviously we have only been in this house 3 weeks, but it still doesn’t feel like a home. It has all out stuff (minus a few bits) and it has Ben, myself and little Diesel but it doesn’t feel like home. Maybe its because its new, maybe its because we haven’t put our own mark on it yet, I don’t know. But by the end of the year I want it to 100% feel like home.
We have some time off coming up in order to do things like decorate, and reorganise things so that the room layouts are how we really want them and not how we threw them together in order to get the stuff in.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the house, I love the neighbourhood, and I love the fact that its mine.. it’s just missing something. For now..
Well thats it, my ‘resolutions’ for 2019. Please share yours with me, I’d love to hear all about them!
Oh! Another thing I want to mention is that as of Monday 7th January, I will be back to my usual 3 posts a week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5PM.
So with that in mind..
Talk to you soon!
