If you have been following my blog for a while, you will have seen me post numerous times about my blonde hair.
It all started when I went fully blonde a few years ago. The process took three sessions, over the course of probably two months. I didn’t want to do it all at once because I wanted to keep my hair in pretty good condition. We got there with my hair and I loved it. I loved being blonde, I loved that my hair was still pretty healthy and I just loved it.
Fast forward to November 2017 and I went back brunette. This time however, I wasn’t happy with it, I think the shade of brown was too light, and I didn’t like it so I started slowly adding blonde back in until just before I went back to London in August when I went back to full blonde.
This time however, I wasn’t overly fond. I wasn’t happy with the shade, it looked yellow and no amount of purple shampoo could fix it. I wrote a post about how I used an at home box bleach and how I liked the results of that. It freshened it up and gave my blonde a new lease of life.. But I still wasn’t happy.
I started looking at my hair differently, looking at my brown roots and wondering if I should just go back to brunette. The blonde didn’t photograph well and that was a huge issue for me. My hair was still healthy but I was just, over it? You know?
So last week I went to my stylist and told her I wanted to go back dark. We went through the colour book and settled on a dark shade with a subtle purple/red undertone.
On Monday, the time arrived for my appointment and I sat eagerly awaiting the big change.

This is how it looked when I went. My roots were pretty grown out and was in desperate need of a trim.

We decided to keep some highlights to break up the dark colour we had chosen (which is why there are foils). My stylist decided to take the already blonde hair and add a toner which was a few shades darker.

A rich, deep purple toned brown with subtle blonde high lights running through. When styled by me my hair doesn’t look so blunt because I am a lot rougher in my styling than my stylist who prefers precision.
I only opted for a trim just to even things out, I was going to go for the full chop again but we decided it would be best to let it keep growing.

This was a couple hours after, when I had done a full face of make up to go along with my new colour.
I am so in love with this new colour. My hair looks shiny and healthy. The colour is rich and dark which I love. Over all I am a very happy camper!
As I buy things that are more suited to brown hair I will fill you guys in, but for now I am just using the same colour care shampoo as I was before.
Hope you like this post, and the change.
Talk to you soon!

Oh my gosh I love this! Your hair looks in-credible!! Such a good decision. I’m getting my hair dyed tomorrow (I am yet to decide what I want, oops) and I hope the outcome is as good as yours xx

Thank you so much!
Talk to your stylist 🙂 I went through the colour sample book with mine and we came to a joint decision about the colour that would most suit me and what I wanted :)!
Good luck! Can’t wait to see the results 😀 xx
