Review – Lancome Hypnose Mascara

Recently I purchased a Lancome Mascara Gift Set and posted an in depth look at it (you can read about it here). At the end of that post I said I would be reviewing each of the mascara’s separately so here we are with the first instalment. This post has been a long time coming and I wanted to make sure I had given the product enough of a try before sitting down to write it. I talked a bit about the packaging and things in the previous post so I will try not to repeat myself too much. But anyway..

Lets get on with the review

The packaging for this mascara is sleek black plastic, very classic and very understated. The one downside I have noticed is that the packaging on this is very light weight and that does make it feel a little bit on the cheaper side, which when you consider the price tag on this, is a bit of a let down.

The wand is a skinny natural bristle brush with a slight taper in the middle making the very end just a tiny bit thicker than where the stem of the wand attaches to the bristles.

The bristles aren’t too long or too short, they are right in the Goldilocks to cover each lash evenly.

I’m sure we have all seen a pictures of my eye up close and personal but here we are again. My lashes aren’t terrible, but they definitely need help. This picture is taken just after I had curled them, naturally they are quite straight, like the rest of my hair. My lower lashes however leave a lot to be desired.

This is after three coats of the the Hypnose Mascara and one coat on the bottom lashes.

The formula on this is gorgeous. It offers build-able volume, length and separation. Like I said, I do three coats of this in order to get it to a level that I am really happy with. It leaves the lashes feeling soft, it doesn’t feel cakey or heavy on the lashes, it doesn’t weigh them down. It doesn’t clump or flake, even after 12 hours of wear.

I will say that the pigment isn’t all that, it builds up to a nice rich black, but it doesn’t start out that way, so if your looking for a really rich black mascara, you can get it from this, but you need to be patient with it.

Overall I am really in love with this mascara. I would happily buy it again because its a dream to use and the results are gorgeous. I would highly recommend this mascara if you ever get a chance to try it!

Hope you enjoyed this.

Talk to you soon!
