First Impression Friday – Maybelline Tattoo Brow Micro Pen

Welcome back to another First Impression Friday (F.I.F)

Today I wanted to talk about one of the most disappointing products I have used in a long time, the Maybelline Tattoo Brow Micro Pen. I picked this up a couple of weeks ago because I had used up my usual brow pencil and the store I was in didn’t have any left, so I had to go with something new.

The Tattoo Brow Micro Pen offered some nice claims – microblade effect, long lasting, high pigment, precision – the list goes on, so I thought what the heck, it was buy one get half off, so I grabbed the brow pen and my favourite powder.

When I got it home, I opened it up and gave it a few test strokes on the back of my hand and was like “yeah, nice this”. It has a plastic tip with three little ‘spikes’ to create the brow hairs, and a nice rich pigment and when flicked across the back of my hand I could 100% see the appeal.

However, when it came to the next day and I was ready to give it a proper go in my actual brows, I took the lid off, put the tip to my brows and… nothing. Not a damn thing. I kept running it through my brows, and applying more pressure and still nothing.

I applied it again to the back of my hand, and there was no pigment coming off the product. It was as if the whole thing had dried up over night.

This product retails at £10 so for it to dry up within 24 hours was super, super disappointing. I wouldn’t have minded if I had gotten to give it a proper go before it dried up, because at least that way I could have made a decision if it was worth repurchasing but I didn’t even get that.

So yeah, there you have my first impressions.. Honestly not worth your money.

Hope you enjoyed this post.

Talk to you soon!
