About a week ago I was out doing my weekly shop when I remember I was quickly running out of shampoo so I made my way to the toiletries aisle to have a look at what was on offer.
I had been using the Head And Shoulders Supreme Moisture Shampoo range (switching between hydrating and colour protect) for the longest time. I had initally purchased it because I had a reaction to a different shampoo and it completely dried my scalp out, so I switched over to the Head and Shoulders to help combat it, and it really work. I ended up sticking with it long after my scalp had returned to normal.
However recently I have noticed that my hair is a bit.. meh.. a bit lacklustre and I wanted to try something new in hopes of bringing it back to life.
My hair is straight, fine, but I have a lot of it. It is colour treated, but overall it can be a bit flat. Being naturally straight it doesn’t have a lot of life to it anyway so it often just looks flat and limp.
I decided that I wanted to try something for volume, so that’s what I bought.
So this is the shampoo I went with. It is packed full of anti-oxidants, lipids and the pro v formula to target weak, thin hair, and transform it into strong, fuller looking hair.
It is said to protect hair from free radicals, reverse the signs of damage (from heat styling) and prevent breakage, it is also said to maintain the structural integrity of the hair.
It has some pretty bold claims, so how does it hold up?
I actually am really impressed by this. I have been using it for about a week ( I wash my hair everyday.. unless I am not planning on leaving the house) and have been pleasantly surprised by the overall improvement in terms of the health of my hair.
My hair feels so much stronger, it bounces and swishes when I walk, something it never did before. It is shinier than it has been and my actual colour looks better and brighter.
This is a dream to apply, it lathers up very nicely and rinses clean with minimal effort.
I always leave my shampoo to sit for 1 – 2 minutes to let it break down any product in my hair before I rinse it and when I get out of the shower my hair feels squeaky clean and once its dry it is full of life.
The only real downside to this product is that is isn’t sulphate or paraben free, which is a bit of a bummer, but it really does work so I would be willing to look past that.
In true Kezzabean style.. I picked up the wrong conditioner and didn’t actually realise until I was taking the pictures for this post.. however.. I am not complaining.
This conditioner is specially designed for fine hair. It claims to leave hair healthy looking with lightweight body and shine, it helps to fortify fine to hair to improve overall volume whilst protecting it from styling damage, and has a keratin protection complex.
As I said, I picked up the wrong one, I thought I had gotten the Superfood Conditioner to match the shampoo but I’ll be honest I am living for this conditioner.
I don’t use it every day, instead I use it every two days because my hair gets a bit fussy if I over condition it. I use a small amount and work in through my ends, using my fingers to comb it through, I leave it on for several minutes, usually opting to wash and exfoliate my face, I then rinse it our thoroughly.
You can feel a difference right away with this product and when used in conjunction with the shampoo it really makes a difference to my hair. The texture is improved, it styles quicker and nicer and it just looks fuller and healthier.. I keep saying it but my hair really does look and feel a tonne better since switching.
Plus this conditioner smells gorgeous, and the scent really lingers in the hair, the scent of the shampoo doesn’t stick around but the conditioner stays in your hair for hours after. I get so many compliments after using this!
So overall I am incredibly happy with my new routine, my hair looks, feels and smells great. I can’t fault either of these products, they really do live up to their claims.
I did also pick up a masque from the same brand but I am yet to try it so I can’t comment.. you can expect a First Impression Friday post soon though!
I hope you enjoyed this review. What shampoo and conditioner are you using currently? I’d love to find out.
Talk to you soon!
